Enrollment Verification
An enrollment verification is an official document that can be used to verify enrollment status for scholarship purposes, medical coverage, car insurance, etc. It does not include course or grade information and does not provide GPA information.
UTC enrollment verification is available through the National Student Clearinghouse. Enrollment verification through the National Student Clearinghouse is considered official and includes term start date, term end date, enrollment status (full-time, half-time, less than half-time), expected graduation date, status effective date, and the date certified by UTC for current and historical enrollment.
Enrollment verification information for Spring and Fall is transmitted to the National Student Clearinghouse on a monthly basis. Frequently, an early registration file is transmitted prior to the first day of classes. Students are notified by the University Registrar by email when enrollment verification is available through the National Student Clearinghouse.
Enrollment verification for summer is transmitted once at the end of all of the summer terms.
If the organization requesting enrollment verification has its own form, students should complete the portion of the form with their information and then attach the Enrollment Verification Certificate from the National Student Clearinghouse. UTC does not complete the form.
If you requested that UTC not release your Directory Information, enrollment verification will not be available through the National Student Clearinghouse.
UTC uses the following criteria for determining the Enrollment Status of students:
Fall, Spring, or Summer Semesters
Enrollment Status |
Undergraduate Enrollment |
Graduate Enrollment |
Full-Time | 12 Credit Hours minimum | 9 Credit Hours minimum |
Three-Quarter Time | 9-11 Credit Hours | 8 Credit Hours |
Half-Time | 6-8 Credit Hours | 5-7 Credit Hours |
Less than Half-Time | 5 Credit Hours or less | 4 Credit Hours or less |
If you require an enrollment verification prior to the information being available through the National Student Clearinghouse, you may submit a request for Enrollment Verification for our office to complete on your behalf. Please allow 2-3 business days for processing.
Any Enrollment Verification request forms submitted to the Registrar after the information has been transmitted to the National Student Clearinghouse will be forwarded to The National Student Clearinghouse for processing.
