The mission of the Grayson H. Walker Center for Teaching and Learning is to promote teaching excellence and innovation that cultivates student engagement, learning, and success.

Our Services
Faculty Development
We provide a wide variety of faculty development opportunities to enhance teaching and learning including workshops and seminars, the Teaching and Learning Institute, Book Clubs, and Faculty Fellowship Opportunities.
Instructional Design and Development
We provide one-on-one consultations for the effective design of courses (any size or modality) and course materials. We also offer ideas for innovative teaching strategies utilizing best practices in the field of teaching and learning.
Learning Technologies
We provide support for the integration of technology into teaching and learning, including UTC Learn, Kaltura Lecture Capture, ZOOM, and a wide variety of innovative learning technologies.
New Faculty Orientation
We offer orientations for new faculty and adjunct faculty that cover various aspects of teaching at UTC.
Course Review
We provide programs for the review and evaluation of teaching including classroom observations, Small Group Instructional Diagnosis (SGID), peer review of teaching, and and one-on-one support throughout the Quality Matters Review process.
Experiential Learning
Experiential Learning takes students beyond the classroom connecting theory to practice through internships, creative endeavors, intercultural experiences, research, leadership and service learning opportunities.
